Baby bottles can leach chemicals under certain conditions. Consumer Reports tested nine popular options for safety concerns

A baby's small body is especially vulnerable to chemicals like bisphenol A, lead and phthalates, substances that can sometimes leach out of feeding products. Material choice matters here, since glass and food-grade silicone are less likely than plastic to contain these chemicals, and high heat can cause a plastic bottle to release any BPA it does contain.
Consumer Reports tested nine popular baby bottles made from plastic, silicone and glass for BPA, lead and eight different phthalates, so parents can see exactly which options passed.
