One of the most talked-about pieces of Nordic design this year, though, comes from the transport sector.
The P-12 ferry, designed by Swedish technology firm Candela, made its debut this year and was showered with praise for its sustainable specifications and its simple-yet-revolutionary concept.
This week, Candela was awarded the Utmärkt Svensk Form, the most prestigious distinction handed out by Svensk Form, the world's oldest design organisation, founded in 1845.
The P-12 is described by the company as the world's first high-speed, long-range electric ferry.
