Russian forces dropped four more glide bombs on the Kherson combined heat and power plant (CHP) overnight on August 27, destroying all of the facility’s remaining heat- and power-generating equipment.
According to Ukrinform, Naftogaz Group reported this on Telegram.
“Russian forces again attacked the Kherson CHP plant operated by Naftogaz Group overnight. Four glide bombs struck the station’s premises at once,” the statement said.
The CHP plant suffered critical damage. The strike completely destroyed and disabled all of the heat- and power-generating equipment that remained at the facility.
“This attack has no military justification whatsoever. Its sole purpose is to terrorize civilians and attempt to deprive tens of thousands of Kherson residents of a source of heat on the eve of the heating season,” said Serhii Fedorenko, acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
