The Kherson combined heat and power plant (CHP) has suffered severe damage as a result of a Russian attack.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Naftogaz Group on Telegram.

“Russian forces attacked the Kherson CHP plant with a glide bomb. As a result of the attack, the city’s main source of heat suffered severe damage,” the statement said.

The full extent of the damage will be assessed as soon as security conditions allow.

Naftogaz emphasized that the Kherson CHP plant is an exclusively civilian facility whose primary purpose is to provide heat to the city’s residents. At the same time, the plant has been subjected to dozens of Russian attacks throughout 2026.
