MANILA, Philippines — Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla and Kabataan party-list Rep. Renee Co on Thursday clashed over Oplan Tokhang and the alleged harassment of student leaders.
In a manifestation during the House of Representatives appropriations committee hearing on the DILG’s 2027 budget, Co maintained that apart from video games, a “culture of violence” was among the factors that led to recent violent incidents in schools across the country.
“Kasama dito (culture of violence) yung Oplan Tokhang even to the continuous harassment of student-leaders,” Co said.
