Aeroparque reopens this afternoon. The 55-hour shutdown ends at 4 p.m. First departures are domestic evening services to Córdoba, Mendoza and Bariloche; the schedule should be normal by Friday, though airlines may need 24 to 48 hours to reposition aircraft and crews.
The Colombian peso gives back ground. The official TRM in force today is 3,118.24 per dollar, up from 3,081.67 on Wednesday, and the spot dollar closed at 3,128.50. It is the dollar’s first pass above 3,100 since August 18 — good news if you earn in dollars, a squeeze if you earn in pesos.
Jackson Hole opens today. Around 120 central bankers gather through Saturday, and Fed chair Kevin Warsh gives his first keynote in the job on Friday at 10 a.m. New York time. July’s US inflation reading came in hot on Wednesday, at 3.7 percent year on year for the PCE index, so every currency in this guide trades on his tone.
