Sungkyunkwan University researchers developed voice security technology to detect spoofed audio and voice deepfake crimes in Seoul, the university said Wednesday. Led by Park Eun-il of the Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence, the team showed it can detect manipulated audio inside genuine voice recordings and pinpoint changes to within one second. Two papers were accepted for presentation at Interspeech 2026 in Sydney. The team also said its AI studies aim to improve safety in daily life, financial services and digital evidence analysis.

A research team at Sungkyunkwan University has developed a voice security technology designed to combat increasingly sophisticated voice deepfake crimes, the university said Wednesday.
The research team, led by Park Eun-il, a professor in the Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence, demonstrated that the technology can detect manipulated audio inserted into genuine voice recordings.
