The arrest of San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was captured on video.The California Post posted police body camera footage of York's Aug. 23 arrest in an article published on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The video depicts an officer asking the 49ers' principal owner to get out of his car before placing him in handcuffs.York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, and initially charged with misdemeanor counts of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. A plea deal shifted the former charge to disorderly conduct.A timestamp for the footage indicates the recording started about 9:58 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23. It shows a police officer approaching a gray SUV before York opens the door from the driver's seat while holding his wallet. The officer unbuckles York's seatbelt, pulls him out of the car, asks York to put his hands on the car and spread his feet, and then puts York in handcuffs.During the apparent detainment, York asks multiple times what the officer is doing. When the officer asks what he is doing, York claims he was "just driving" and denies that he was trying to meet anyone.After a brief back-and-forth with the officer in which York says he is from the area and was just driving around East Palestine, the officer leads York to the back of a police cruiser labeled "New Waterford Police." New Waterford is a village that shares a county – Columbiana – with East Palestine.Later in the video, the officer wearing the camera shows a handful of $20 bills, while another officer says York "had a [expletive]-ton of cash." The two officers say that the process was "easy," and the officer wearing the camera expresses disbelief at "the people that do this.""They could do whatever they want. They could do other things. They could go other ways," the officer said. "It's wild."What is Jed York accused of?The Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force (MVLETF) alleges that the 49ers' principal owner used a known prostitution website to coordinate an arranged meet-up with an undercover officer.According to an incident report from the MVLETF and obtained by USA TODAY Sports, York used an alias and contacted the officer three times before his planned rendezvous and subsequent arrest in East Palestine, Ohio. Police allege that York "arranged to have sexual activity" with a woman "in exchange for $140."After his arrest, York reached a plea bargain that saw his misdemeanor charge of "engaging in prostitution" reduced to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He also pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possessing criminal tools, which was later revealed to be the cell phone he used to arrange the meeting. As part of his plea deal, York agreed to pay a $1,150 fine, spend one day in jail and forfeit the $160 he had at the time of his arrest.It is unclear whether York will face discipline from the 49ers or the NFL."We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy," the NFL said in a statement."As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time," the 49ers said in a statement.This story has been updated.USA TODAY Sports' Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz contributed to this report.
