Fifty-three Ukrainian nationals are missing following a flash flood in Nepal, near the country’s border with Tibet, that has killed at least 160 people. The number of casualties is expected to rise as rescue operations continue. Ukraine’s embassies in India and China are coordinating with local authorities, including Nepal’s Tourist Police to establish the Ukrainians’ whereabouts. Three people in China are currently reported dead and another 265 are missing, AFP reported citing Chinese state media, while Nepalese police said they had recovered 157 bodies. According to CNN World, more than 150 people are confirmed dead, with the toll likely to rise further. At least 47 Americans are reported missing. Search efforts underway The Foreign Ministry said there was no information indicating that Ukrainian citizens were among those killed or injured. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reportedly instructed Ukraine’s embassies in India and China to use available personal information to contact the missing citizens and take further necessary measures.
