Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has received a report that contact has been lost with 46 Ukrainian citizens in Nepal. According to the country’s Tourist Police, a total of 53 Ukrainian nationals are currently considered missing.
The updated figures were provided to journalists by the press service of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukrinform reports.
“The Foreign Ministry received a report this morning that contact had been lost with a group of 46 Ukrainian tourists in the disaster area. According to the Nepal Tourist Police, as of now, a total of 53 Ukrainian citizens are considered missing as a result of the natural disaster,” the ministry said.
In addition, the ministry said, eight reports had been received on the Foreign Ministry’s hotline from relatives who had lost contact with people on the aforementioned list.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian embassies in India and China are maintaining contact with the competent authorities in their respective host countries regarding search operations that could determine the whereabouts of Ukrainian citizens.
