The Imo State government has budgeted N1.1billion for refreshments and meals in 2026, while another N458.5million is earmarked for honorarium and sitting allowances, according to the state’s 2026 approved budget documents and second-quarter Budget Implementation Report.
The figures are contained in the report detailing the state government’s budget performance, highlighting substantial spending on recurrent administrative and miscellaneous expenses amid competing demands for public resources.
Under expenditure code 22021001, the state appropriated N1,103,531,710 for “Refreshment & Meals” for the 2026 financial year. By the end of the second quarter, N802million had already been spent, representing 72.7 per cent of the annual allocation.
