The report shows that the government budgeted N1billion for Imo State University capital expenditure, Owerri, N800 million for Imo State Polytechnic, Omuma, and another N1.2 billion for the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu, for the 2026 fiscal year.

The Imo State government made no actual expenditure on capital budgetary provisions for the Imo State University, Imo State Polytechnic and Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu, in the first six months of 2026, despite allocating a combined N3billion to the three institutions, according to the state’s 2026 Quarter Two Budget Performance Report.

Capital expenditures are aimed at executing projects for infrastructural development.

The report shows that the government budgeted N1billion for Imo State University capital expenditure, Owerri, N800 million for Imo State Polytechnic, Omuma, and another N1.2 billion for the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu, for the 2026 fiscal year.

However, none of the three institutions recorded any expenditure against their respective allocations between January and June 2026.
