Despite Multi-Billion-Naira Budget, Imo Government Releases Zero Naira For State Varsity, Teaching Hospital In Six Months

The Imo State government made no actual expenditure on capital budgetary provisions for the Imo State University, Imo State Polytechnic and Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu, in the first six months of 2026, despite allocating a combined N3billion to the three institutions, according to the state’s 2026 Quarter Two Budget Performance Report. Capital expenditures are aimed at executing projects for infrastructural development.
