The Niger State Government is again under scrutiny over its capital spending priorities after budget documents revealed plans to spend an additional N1.5 billion on tables and chairs for guest houses behind the Government House, just after committing about N1.6 billion to similar purchases between January and September 2025.
The latest figures, contained in the 2026 approved budget reviewed by SaharaReporters, show that the state has earmarked N1.5 billion for the “Provision of 28nos Executive Tables and Chairs for Additional 17no Guest Houses Behind Government House” under the Office of the Executive Governor.
