The wife of the Anambra State governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called for stronger empowerment and equality for women across the country, pointing out that when women are empowered, families are stronger, communities are healthier, and societies move forward.

Soludo stressed that equality is not about giving women an advantage; it is about ensuring that every woman and girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, work, dream and thrive without limitations imposed by gender, culture, religion, or social impediment.

The Anambra first lady, who is also the founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation, ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative ‘, highlighted the strength, brilliance, and resilience, adding that their invaluable contributions towards societal development cannot be ignored.

She stated this in a press statement she released on Wednesday, in commemoration of the ‘Women’s Equality Day’, celebrated globally on August 26, as part of efforts to prohibit gender barriers.
