Anambra State First Lady, Nonye Soludo, has called for stronger support and empowerment for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, describing them as the backbone of global economies and critical drivers of job creation, innovation and inclusive economic growth.
She also described entrepreneurs as key drivers of economic development, saying their ideas create jobs, strengthen families and promote sustainable growth.
She stated this in a message posted on her Facebook page on Saturday, to mark the 2026 International Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, observed globally on June 27.
She commended entrepreneurs for their resilience, innovation and determination in building stronger communities, emphasising that thriving small businesses are essential to prosperous and inclusive societies.
She said, “Today, we celebrate the resilience, innovation and determination of entrepreneurs whose ideas create jobs, strengthen families and drive sustainable economic growth.
