For most of the people who keep Lagos’s economy running — the executives, the frequent flyers, the expatriates, the global professionals whose working lives span continents — transport has been the one area where the standard they hold everything else to simply doesn’t apply. It is a problem the city has lived with long enough that it barely registers as one. Until now.
Primelane launched in Lagos today Wednesday, August 26th, with a proposition that is straightforward but largely untested in the Nigerian market: a premium, on-demand ride service built around the consistency of the experience, not the competitiveness of the price.
The service is available on iOS and Android from day one, covering Lagos including airport pickups and drop-offs at Murtala Muhammed International Airport — a route that connects the city’s island business districts to the mainland and back, and one that frequent travellers have long navigated without a reliable premium option at either end.
