BritBox has unveiled the official trailer for “Agatha Christie‘s Tommy & Tuppence,” a modern take on the beloved detective duo starring Antonia Thomas and Josh Dylan.
The six-part series is the first contemporary English-language TV adaptation of Christie’s “Tommy & Tuppence” stories, set in present-day London and starring Dylan (“Buccaneers,” “Mamma Mia 2”) as Tommy and Thomas (“The Good Doctor,” “Still Up”) as Tuppence. “They fall in love, fall out of it and tumble back in, all while solving some thrilling, entertaining mysteries along the way,” the show’s official synopsis reads.
The cast also includes Imelda Staunton (“Harry Potter,” “Paddington”) as Tommy’s Aunt Ada, Nicholas Richardson (“Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” “Younger”), Charlie Condou (“Doctor Who,” “Unforgotten”), Callie Cooke (“F1,” “Cheaters”) and Chizzy Akudolu (“Little Disasters,” “The Woman in the Wall”).
“Tommy & Tuppence” is produced by Lookout Point (“Pride and Prejudice,” “Happy Valley”), which is part of BBC Studios, and Agatha Christie Limited. The series is written by Phoebe Eclair-Powell (“The Road Trip,” “Harm”), who also executive produces. Fergus O’Brien (“Happy Valley,” “The Tourist”) directs the first four episodes and Ellie Heydon (“Outrageous,” “Trying”) helms the final two. Stella Merz (“Miss Austen,” “Gentleman Jack”) serves as a producer. Other executive producers include Katie Draper, Laura Lankester, Louise Mutter and Juliette Howell from Lookout Point, along with James Prichard from Agatha Christie Limited.
