Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless, Fool Me Once) is adapting Roald Dahl‘s short stories into a Netflix show with Naomi Scott (Smile 2), Josh Finan (Say Nothing), Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton) and Dominic West (The Crown) set to star.

The untitled project, from Orchid Pictures, will also feature Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs. The Post Office), Carmen Ejogo (The Penguin), Christine Tremarco (Adolescence), Michael Socha (The Cage) and Clarke Peters (The Boroughs).

It’ll depict the stories told by the famed Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory author in a series he wrote for adults — not children.

A plot synopsis given to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday reads: “A young couple, marooned in a faded seaside town, navigate conmen, adulterers, murderous mothers and snake charmers as they attempt to escape before their own fate is sealed.”
