The Special Intensive Revision has left 2.97 lakh voters out of the electoral rolls in Vijayapura district.This is a reduction of 14%. As per the earlier electoral rolls, the district had 19,82,114 voters.Now, the SIR draft list has 16,84,968 names. The difference is 2,97,146. These are included in the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and others (ASDDOs) list.SIR was completed as per the directions of the Election Commission of India and the draft list has been published.The last date for seeking inclusion of names in the electoral rolls is September 23, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Anand K. said in Vijayapura on Monday.The draft list has been published in all Tahsildar offices, taluk and gram panchayats.Voters and representatives of political parties have been given an opportunity to review the draft list and submit objections if they have any claims till September 23, he said.Eligible voters whose names are not in the draft list can apply for inclusion of their names by submitting Form 6 through the Voter Registration Officers, BLOs or Voter Service Portal.Young voters who will complete 18 years on October 1, 2026 are also eligible to apply.
