Emma Childs,

a fashion news writer at The Cut who covers style and pop culture.

Previously, she was the fashion features editor at Marie Claire and a fashion writer at The Zoe Report.

When J.Crew asked Emma Chamberlain to be the face of its new rollneck sweater (which the brand is calling a “tiny” rollneck), her answer wasn’t ‘yes’ or ‘no’ but an instant and enthusiastic, “DUH!” The social media phenom has been having a restful summer, scaling back on work projects and unplugging in the hopes of “reversing the brain rot,” as she tells me over Zoom. But the offer to work with the American brand was enough to get her back on her grind. “I was so stoked when they called because I have been an avid J.Crew sweater-wearer for years,” she says. “Plus, it’s time: Mommy’s got to go back to work.”
