Alleged tender kingpin, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala told the Madlanga Commission about his relationship with the former Hawks boss, Lesetja Senona.
Alleged cartel leader Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala has told the Madlanga Commission that former KwaZulu-Natal Hawks boss Lesetja Senona lent him R20,000 after police raided his Pretoria property and seized his phones in 2024.
Matlala’s testimony has shed fresh light on the closeness of his relationship with the former senior police officer, whom he described as an “older brother”.
According to Matlala, the two first met at Senona’s wedding in Soshanguve in 2019 before becoming closer two years later at a funeral linked to late taxi boss Jotham “King Mswazi “ Msibi.
He said it was during that funeral in 2021 that he discovered Senona was a general.
