Controversial businessman Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala.
The Madlanga Commission heard on Wednesday that Witness I, a Hawks' Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS) officer, previously stayed at attempted murder-accused tenderpreneur Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala’s family home in Mamelodi, Soweto, for two years.
Witness I is testifying partly in camera about what transpired during the R300 million Aeroton drug bust.
The Commission was delayed after Witness I requested to submit a supplementary statement.
“I heard that there is a plan to disclose my stay at Matlala’s house to discredit me,” he told the Commission.
