More than 600 unshucked abalone were seized after Metro police stopped a vehicle in Gordon's Bay.
More than 1 000 unshucked abalone has been seized in two separate busts in the Gordon's Bay area in the space of 24 hours, with four people arrested.
In the latest incident on Tuesday, Metro Police officers intercepted a vehicle travelling from Kleinmond towards Gordon's bay after receiving a tip-off from the Department of Fisheries and the Environment (DDFE) and a private security company.
Cape Town Metro Police spokesperson Superintendent Ruth Solomons said officers were given a description of a Suzuki seven-seater and set off in search of the vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Faure Marine Drive and Sir Lowry's Pass Drive, where four bags containing abalone were found.
