FC Petržalka have won five games from five as they target a return to the top flight.
FC Petržalka have won all five of their opening second-tier matches without dropping a point, strengthening hopes that one of Slovakia’s most famous former Champions League sides could return to the top flight.
The Bratislava club have scored 14 goals and conceded just two after narrowly missing out on the promotion play-offs last season. This time, club officials are openly talking about going up.
“Promotion to the top division is our long-term goal,” general manager Andrej Kalina told Hospodárske noviny. “If we managed it this season, it would be a huge success.”
For foreign football fans, Petržalka are best remembered under their former name Artmedia Bratislava.
