Stats Perform analysis of ten leading European competitions highlighted Sparta Prague's Lukáš Haraslín and Viktoria Plzeň defender Dávid Krčík.
The Czech First League rarely attracts the same international attention as Europe's biggest football competitions. However, a recent data analysis found that several players in the league produced statistics that compared favourably with those recorded in some of Europe's top domestic competitions, according to the Slovak sports website Sportnet.
The study, conducted by sports analytics company Stats Perform, compared the Czech First League, known commercially as the Chance Liga, with the nine other highest-ranked European leagues according to UEFA's coefficient rankings.
Among the players highlighted were two Slovak footballers: Sparta Prague captain Lukáš Haraslín and Viktoria Plzeň defender Dávid Krčík.
Krčík recorded 12 league goals during the season, more than any other defender in the ten leagues included in the analysis. According to the study, the next-highest total by a defender was eight goals.
