LayerZero Labs just pulled the curtain back on ATLAS, a new exchange platform built on its Zero Layer-1 blockchain that wants to become the plumbing beneath global financial markets. The name stands for Aggregated Trading Liquidity and Settlement.
The platform is designed as a “headless” exchange, meaning it provides the backend trading infrastructure while letting third parties build their own front-end interfaces on top.
What ATLAS actually does
At launch, ATLAS is targeting 200,000 transactions per second on Zero Layer-1. For context, Visa’s network handles roughly 65,000 TPS at peak capacity. LayerZero has stated aspirations to eventually push beyond 2 million TPS.
The initial product focus will center on spot cryptocurrency trading and perpetual futures. Prediction markets and options are on the roadmap for subsequent phases.
