Coimbatore district recorded an average rainfall of 24.15 mm across 23 stations during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday (August 25, 2026), with Chinnakalar in Valparai recording the highest rainfall of 101 mm.Meanwhile, Siruvani recorded 30 mm of rain at Adivaram and 26 mm at the Siruvani Dam on Tuesday. The Siruvani Dam water depth was 27.35 feet, against the permitted full reservoir level (FRL) of 44.61 feet.Valparai taluk recorded heavy rainfall at several locations. Chinnakalar received the highest rainfall in the district at 101 mm, followed by Cincona and Sholayar with 68 mm each and Valparai PAP with 67 mm. The Valparai taluk station recorded 63 mm.Perur taluk also received moderate rainfall and 25 mm at the BDO office in Thondamuthur. Pollachi received 21 mm each at the Taluk Office and PWD IB at Makkinampatti, while Anaimalai recorded 21 mm and Aliyar 21.40 mm.In Coimbatore North, TNAU recorded 8 mm, Coimbatore Airport 4.40 mm and P.N. Palayam 4 mm. Coimbatore South recorded 8 mm. Podanur received 14.60 mm, while Madukkarai recorded 4 mm.No rainfall was recorded at Mettupalayam, Pilloor Dam, Annur and Sulur.
