The revised draft voters’ list published by the Chikkamagaluru district administration, as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), shows the district has 8,63,516 voters, against 9,60,231 voters on the earlier list. As many as 96,715 names had been listed under the Absent, Shifted, Duplicate, Dead and Others (ASDDO) categories.Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner Bhanwar Singh Meena, addressing a press conference in the district on Monday (August 24), said the draft voters’ list was available for the public to access and file objections, if any. Of those on the list, 4,24,792 are men, 4,38,707 are women, and 17 are others.As part of the SIR, rationalisation of polling stations was also carried out. In the process, 25 new polling stations were added, taking the total number of polling stations in the district from 1,230 to 1,255.Chikkamagaluru Zilla Panchayat CEO H.S.
