The draft electoral rolls prepared as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) was published in Kalaburagi district with 18,49,585 voters on the list, Deputy Commissioner Iqram Shareef has said.Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Shareef said that the draft rolls recorded 18,49, 585 voters comprising 9,40,251 men, 9,09,121 women and 213 voters in the Others category. The district has a gender ratio of 967 women for every 1,000 men.Women outnumber men in three constituencies, Kalaburagi South, Kalaburagi North and Sedam.While Kalaburagi South has 1,00,008 women voters and 96,481 men, Kalaburagi North has 1,15,685 women voters and 1,14,271 men. Sedam has 98,391 women voters and 96,875 men.The district has 14,125 voters aged between 18 and 19 and 24,817 voters recorded with disabilities.Claims, objectionsMr. Shareef said that voters can file claims and objections till September 23 if there are errors in their names, address, age or polling station details or if the name of an eligible voter has been omitted from the draft rolls.Applications along with supporting documents can be submitted to the respective Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO). The claims and objections will be disposed of by October 22 and the final electoral rolls will be published on October 27.NoticesMr. Shareef clarified that the district administration will issue notices through the EROs to voters whose details have been flagged as Anomalies during data verification.Voters will have to furnish the relevant documents from among the 11 categories prescribed by the Election Commission. Aadhaar can also be submitted as a supporting document, he said.Documents Those born before July 1, 1987 have to submit Aadhaar along with one other document. Those born after July 1, 1987 have to submit their own document and that of either their father or mother. Those born after 2000 have to submit documents relating to themselves and both parents. If the parents are not available, documents of guardian can be submitted, the officer said.5.21 lakh left outAs many as 5,21,957 voters, constituting 22.01% of the electorate, have been identified under the ASDDOs category (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Others) during SIR-2026 in the district.The figure includes 3,47,606 voters who have permanently shifted, 71,691 duplicate or multiple entries, 47,445 absentee voters, 33,399 deceased voters and 21,816 cases classified under other categories.The verification exercise also identified 53,788 voters whose records could not be mapped and 51,705 anomaly cases.Together, these account for 1,05,493 cases requiring verification.
