The Russian Defense Ministry’s claim that it had captured the village of Novokostiantynivka (formerly known as Pershe Travnia) is false.
According to Ukrinform, the Kursk Grouping of Ukrainian forces reported this on Facebook.
The military said the settlement remains under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Fighting in the area is ongoing, while the situation remains under control and Ukrainian units continue to carry out combat missions.
The grouping noted that claims about the alleged capture of Ukrainian settlements are standard practice for Russia.
“Russian commanders have long and regularly claimed credit for results that do not exist on the ground. This is done for domestic propaganda purposes and to report to the leadership,” the military said.
