Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Nevada Attorney General Michelle Briggs filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Monday over its plan to reduce water use from the Colorado River.
The lawsuit said the drought management plan from the Interior Department would cause "devastating environmental, socioeconomic, and health and human safety impacts to southern Nevada and its citizens."
The plan also called for cuts to water deliveries to Arizona and California.
Briggs argued that the government misinterpreted, misapplied and violated the Law of the River, a compact that regulates water distribution from the Colorado River to seven states across the Southwestern United States.
