KADUNA — Former Secretary-General of the Anglican Communion Worldwide and founder of the Kaduna Centre for the Study of Christian-Muslim Relations, Bishop Josiah Idowu-Fearon, has urged Nigerians to look beyond religious identity when choosing political leaders in the 2027 general elections.
Idowu-Fearon, who is also a former Chairman of the Kaduna State Peace Commission, said Nigeria needed a president who genuinely practised the values of his or her faith, rather than one chosen solely on the basis of religious identity.
The bishop spoke on Monday in Kaduna while responding to questions on the economy, religious leadership, politics, insecurity and the 2027 elections.
