The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for the country and its leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning that Nigeria’s future depends largely on the emergence of responsible, God-fearing, and visionary leadership.
The monarch, who is also President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, made the appeal on Wednesday in his Eid-el-Kabir message, where he stressed the need for spiritual reflection, national unity, and collective commitment toward building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
