The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) has opened direct paddy procurement centres in the Thadapalli-Arakkankottai irrigation areas here from Monday (August 24, 2026).Collector S. Kandasamy said the centres have been opened to enable farmers to sell their produce directly to the government. Permission has been accorded to open 39 centres in the irrigation areas.The centres are functioning at Kallipatti, Elur, Nanjai Puliyampatti, Puthuvalliyampalayam, Alukuli, Kasipalayam, N.G. Palayam, Karattadipalayam, T.N. Palayam, Kugalur, Pudukaraipudur, Karunkaradu, Perundalaiyur, Mevani, Nanjai Thuraiyampalayam, Kondayampalayam and Soundapur, among other locations. Based on the arrivals, the centres will function. The procurement price has been fixed at ₹2,545 a quintal for Grade ‘A’ paddy, comprising a minimum support price of ₹2,389 and an incentive of ₹156. For common variety paddy, the price is ₹2,500 a quintal, comprising an MSP of ₹2,369 and an incentive of ₹131. Paddy will be procured through the e-Procurement system after biometric authentication of farmers. The amount will be credited directly to their bank accounts.Farmers should produce a certificate from the Village Administrative Officer, patta, chitta, adangal, a copy of their Aadhaar card, a copy of their bank passbook and two passport-size photographs at the procurement centres, the Collector said.
