The first triple murder took place in Athlone.

Police in the Western Cape are investigating two separate triple murder incidents that took place on Sunday and Monday morning.

Detectives attached to the Anti-Gang Unit are investigating the separate incidents.

The provincial police spokesperson, Captain Frederick van Wyk, said the first incident took place in Athlone just after 9pm on Sunday, August 23.

“According to reports, on Sunday, Athlone SAPS members received a complaint of a shooting incident at premises in Lower Klipfontein Road, Silvertown. Upon arrival, they found the bodies of two males aged 19 and 36 lying next to each other in the kitchen area of the house, with multiple gunshot wounds on their upper bodies,” van Wyk said.
