Porsche says it currently has no plans to discontinue the Taycan in the short term.
Porsche is trimming the Taycan lineup, with some variants and battery options leaving US dealers.
Taycan deliveries peaked a little above 40,000 units in 2021 and have since fallen to well under 20,000 in 2025.
Porsche is not killing the Taycan. That is the flat denial coming out of Zuffenhausen after German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche reported that management and the works council had informally discussed winding down production of the electric sedan by around 2030.
A Porsche spokesperson told Robb Report the company has no short-term plan to end the nameplate, saying it has invested heavily in the car and will keep tracking demand. WirtschaftsWoche described internal talks about ending Taycan production by 2030 on profitability and demand grounds, but Porsche has not confirmed that date as a firm target.
