A visual artist, poet, curator and creative director at HOF Gallery, Nobody Owns Me Gallery and Annex Gallery at the Kibera Arts District (KAD) says that art is as much about creating conversations as it is about making objects.
His multidisciplinary practice involves visual art, poetry, fashion and curation to explore identity, memory, masculinity, vulnerability, displacement and the everyday experiences that influence people.
Sino has curated Grounds We Inherit by Victoria Thuo and David Kipkoech, Under the Same Sky by Mbiyu Ng’ang’a and Antony Mega, and The Swamp by Munene Kariithi that run from August 22 to September 10 at the three galleries.
Sino started taking writing seriously in 2016 and in 2018, he went into visual art while studying graphic design at Kenyatta University. His studies deepened his understanding of art history in Africa, Europe and Asia which expanded his perspective.
