Details of an horrific alleged attack on a pair of teens on Auckland's North Shore have been circulating online amid a plea for help from the public.Police are yet to confirm what charges will be laid after the violent robbery and assault on two teenage girls in Takapuna on Saturday night.They said they had identified most of the youths involved, aged between 12 and 17.It is understood the victims had been hanging out with the group, before the group turned on them at around 9.30pm."The victims were separated and reportedly violently assaulted, before having their personal items stolen," Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams said.The girls were able to identify a number of young people of interest at a bus station.Do you know more? Email iwitness@rnz.co.nzIn a statement on Sunday, Williams said follow-up enquiries were being made and potential charges were being considered.They were unable to confirm how many girls were involved in the attack.A post that has been re-shared by community advocate Kaumosi Opie on social media alleges the two girls were beaten, stomped on, stripped down to their bras, spat on and filmed before their phones, clothing and other belongings were taken.One of the victims is also alleged to have been knocked unconscious.The group are alleged to have attempted to force the girls into public toilets behind a Katsubi restaurant, "apparently to prevent members of the public from seeing what was happening".Police would not confirm these details when approached by RNZ.An individual sharing on behalf of family of one of the victims is urging anyone with CCTV, dashcam or cellphone footage to share it with police."Any information, even something that seems minor, could help establish the movements and actions of those involved."Police say they are "actively investigating this incident and the behaviour exhibited will not be tolerated".
