Two security operatives were reportedly killed on Sunday afternoon after suspected gunmen attacked Tanjol and Tarai communities in Jol District of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attackers also carted away the firearms of the slain personnel during the assault, according to community sources.
Confirming the incident, residents from the affected communities said the attack occurred at about 2:30 p.m., prompting security personnel in the area to respond to the attack.
“However, the operatives reportedly encountered fierce resistance from the attackers, resulting in a gun battle that lasted for several minutes.
