The Nigerian Army has announced the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two Dane guns and ammunition during a raid on suspected locations in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to a statement issued on Thursday and shared on its official X handle, the operation was carried out on Wednesday by troops of Sector 8, Operation Enduring Peace, as part of efforts to prevent a planned attack on Mwar community in Chakfem Kingdom.
The statement said the troops were acting on credible intelligence indicating that suspected bandit militias were planning to attack the community.
