The 48-year-old man who killed a 45-year-old woman in the Athens suburb of Nea Smyrni earlier Sunday was known to Albanian authorities, Albania’s Top Channel reported.
According to the channel’s reporter, the murder-and-suicide perpetrator had been arrested in 2016, when he was living in Tirana, Albania’s capital, for harassing his former wife.
The 48-year-old killed the 45-year-old woman outside an apartment building and then turned the gun on himself.
A security camera shows the two having an argument and then the man shooting the woman in the head and torso, before shooting himself in the head.
Authorities have not yet confirmed details about the killer and victim’s prior relationship.
