An Irish mother-of-three has been found dead in Australia as a 45-year-old man was charged with murder. Annmarie O'Reilly, 30, was found injured in a house in the Melbourne suburb Ferntree Gully on Friday. Emergency services attempted to save Ms O'Reilly's life but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Patrick Stokes, who is known to Ms O'Reilly, was arrested later that day and charged with one count of murder on Saturday. The 45-year-old appeared in front of Melbourne Magistrates' Court and was remanded to appear in February.The property was sealed off while murder detectives conduct an investigation. Ms O'Reilly was found at a family home, with children and a pet removed from the address, local outlet 9News reported. The Irish mother was originally from Clonmel in Co Tipperary. 'We are devastated to learn of the desperately sad news of the untimely death of Annmarie O'Reilly,' one wrote.'Our thoughts and prayers are with her children, her parents, Ned and Bridget, her brothers and sisters, her extended family and her friends.'A neighbour described the alleged incident as 'awful'.'People think this kind of thing just happens in the outer suburbs, but it doesn't – it's happening everywhere,' she told The Age.Tributes have been laid at the site, with a bouquet of flowers attached to a telegraph pole.
