ABUJA — Ahead of the 2027 general elections, critical stakeholders from the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State, cutting across the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and other political groups, have endorsed the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno.
The stakeholders announced their endorsement in a communique issued after a meeting of political leaders and other critical stakeholders from the district.
The communique was read by the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Hon. Unyime Idem, and endorsed through a voice vote following a motion moved by Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien and seconded by Hon. Iboro Ekanem.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Assistant to the President of the Senate on Media, Jackson Udom, the stakeholders reviewed the political situation in the state and assessed the contributions and performance of the three leaders before arriving at the decision.
