ABUJA — AHEAD of the 2027 election, Governors, elder statesmen, ministers, lawmakers, traditional rulers and political stakeholders from the North-East on Thursday endorsed President Bola Tinubu for his 2027 re-election bid, pledging to mobilise widespread grassroots support for his second term and for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Six North‑East state leaders converged on the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to back the Tinubu‑Shettima ticket, hailing the President’s retention of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima and vowing to deliver the region for the ruling party in the next election.

A delegation headed by Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF Ambassador Babagana Kingibe at the visit, praised President Tinubu’s administration for its ongoing infrastructure projects, security initiatives and economic reforms, saying these efforts are beginning to transform the region after years of insurgency and neglect.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Zulum described the visit as one of appreciation and renewed political commitment, saying the President’s decision to retain Shettima demonstrated confidence in the North-East and recognition of loyalty, competence and dedicated service.
