Legacy closed out the Esports World Cup 2026 CS2 tournament on August 23 with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FURIA, securing third place at one of the year’s most prestigious Counter-Strike events.

The best-of-three decider match started poorly for Legacy. FURIA took the first map on Ancient with a convincing 13-9 scoreline. But Legacy had other ideas, winning both remaining maps to complete the reverse sweep.

Legacy’s path through the EWC bracket was genuinely impressive. The squad notched a clean 2-0 sweep over Natus Vincere before dispatching Falcons by the same scoreline in the playoff brackets. Those wins earned Legacy a semifinal berth against Spirit, where their run hit a wall in the form of a 0-2 loss.

FURIA’s semifinal exit came at the hands of FUT Esports, setting up the third-place consolation match between the two Brazilian rosters. The grand final ultimately featured FUT Esports against Team Spirit.
