President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine, together with its partners in the United States and Europe, has developed a plan to end the war that envisages a ceasefire, the creation of a free economic zone, and the withdrawal of troops.

The head of state said this while speaking to journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Together with Jared (Kushner – ed.) and Steve (Witkoff – ed.), we agreed to put all these discussions on one page – what the real possibilities for ending the war are. The Americans want to discuss this with us and with the Russians. In short, there is one idea for a ceasefire – that is the main thing. The second part is what the Americans proposed regarding a free economic zone. In other words, we and the Russians take equal steps back, creating a buffer that is called a free economic zone under some kind of administration. It is not yet clear what kind, but it would be some third party. And third: what will the EU and NATO do, and what is Ukraine prepared to do for this?” Zelensky said in response to an Ukrinform correspondent’s question.

He stressed that these ideas were not exclusively Ukrainian.

“These are joint ideas with the Americans and Europeans, as well as the result of finalized discussions between the Americans, us, and the Russians. In my view, there is something there that could be realistic,” the President noted.
