Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone conversation Saturday as part of regular contacts between Athens and Cairo.

The ministers reviewed the Greece-Egypt strategic partnership and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, with a focus on the economy, investments and energy.

They also discussed regional developments, stressing the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the wider region.

Gerapetritis and Abdelatty welcomed the trilateral cooperation format between Greece, Cyprus and Egypt, agreeing to further strengthen coordination among the three countries.
