RAWALPINDI: Police have detained the husband and domestic servant of a 45-year-old woman who was found dead with her hands tied behind her back at an apartment in Rawalpindi, while her elderly father-in-law is also being questioned as part of the investigation.

The woman, identified as Hina Javaid, was found dead in the washroom of her apartment in Askari Apartments, Lal Kurti, on Thursday evening. Police said the body bore signs of torture, with a wire fastened around her neck and tied to the shower rod.

According to the first information report (FIR), registered on Aug 20 at the Civil Lines police station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, Hina’s brother, Fahid Javaid, alleged that his sister had been murdered by her husband, Faisal Asghar Imam, his father, Asghar Ali Fiaz, and their domestic servant, Zeeshan Arshad.

Fahid told police that he received a telephone call from his sister’s father-in-law at around 6:53pm on Thursday, informing him of an emergency at the residence. He said he rushed to the apartment with other family members and arrived there at about 7:23pm.
