MANILA, Philippines — Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon will coordinate with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to check on social media posts that used fake quotes attributed to lawyer Michael Poa where he seemed to criticize the lawmaker.
In an online press briefing on Friday, Ridon thanked Poa for clarifying the matter, even as they sit on opposing sides of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.
Ridon is a member of the House of Representatives’ prosecution team while Poa is a member and a spokesperson of the defense panel.
“I also thank Atty. Poa because I think at the start of the week, there was fake news, fake quotes, claiming we were supposedly debating but it is something that he disowned and we thank him for that. He has my friendship and he has my respect on the matter,” Ridon said.
